Wasted Life.. There is still time.

I see life slipping through my fingers as every minute passes with me staring at the screen, as every minute that leaves me sleeping, as every minute that I worry about not doing enough, not being enough..

Alas, when illness now touches me, I wonder if this is the last day of my life, have I lived enough?

Only, If only I could see the joy in every minute and feel the gratitude for the wonderful things I am blessed with in this life. It would have turned into a beautiful journey towards a mature soul.

Aha, what if there are still minutes left and I make the most of it? It is so wonderful, I still have a chance.

Break through Barriers with Emotional Intelligence

The benefits of using emotional intelligence at workplace are immense.

I would like to put emotional intelligence in simple terms as “the ability to think beyond our assumptions and to realize the perspective of others as well as being aware of our own perspective of a given situation”

How to put this emotional intelligence into play to gain at workplace:

In a given situation:

1. Keep track of your emotions

2. Be aware of the assumptions that you are making about the situation or about the people involved.

3. Make the most of any meeting or appointment. Do not hesitate to bring up your point or questions, just because you assume that the other person is not interested or does not like you OR because you are emotionally overwhelmed. Or because you think your idea is not good enough.

4. Make the move to setup an appointment or bring up your point. Do not hide or make yourself invisible.

5. If you have the feeling that the other person is placing a barrier to your communication, break through anyway and make your point. If he/she does not agree, that is ok. At least you made your point. It boosts your confidence.

6. Finally, Trust your instincts.

Difficult times…

Difficult times come to remind us of how insignificant we are, yet how Significant our purpose in life is.
They come to remind us how vulnerable we are, yet how strong we can be and how we can be strong.
They come to remind us how tough life is, yet how flexible our goals can be.

Law of Attraction and Anxiety

Law of Attraction is a cool thing and it is in vogue these days. The concept is beautiful. You envision something. Start to believe in what we saw in our mind’s eye, feel good, be thankful and boom we are on the way to manifesting into our real world aka life.

The twist comes when after doing all this, there does not seem to be anything happening. And we are in the constant emotional roller-coaster – it must be something I did not do right, I should try harder, I should have done it this way, maybe I wasn’t grateful enough… Oh! with all this on my mind, how am I supposed to feel good and be thankful/grateful? This goes on and I am well on the way to developing anxiety.

Many years back, when I started implementing positive attitude, heal myself, build my self-esteem etc etc. I did succeed in changing my thought-pattern to believing that positive things can happen in my life, I can be what I want to be. I even manifested some good stuff into my life. I even lost some weight 🙂 But when things did not go the way I expected, I was immediately depressed, searching for the flaws in my thinking. I developed back pain and a bit of numbness in one of my legs. I stopped losing weight. Sometimes, added on a bit of weight that I had lost.

During this period I met a Male gynecologist.(He was hired by the Weight Loss Center whose help I was taking to lose weight. When I stopped losing weight, they made me consult this Doctor to understand the root-cause). He pointed to me that by trying to control each and every aspect of my life, I am building anxiety into my system and that is not going to help. The point hit me hard. And I realized though I have to think positive, believe in making a grand life happen, I have to relax and wait till the time when the manifestation really happens. Shortly after, I took a nice short vacation to Kerala(the god’s own country – it is called), allowed life to flow, instead of controlling it. And lo! my back pain was gone. After so many years now, I have not got it back. When I do feel a bit of pain, I understand I am anxious or tense, I need to relax. At least, it works for me.

In my experience, I have seen that not all of the stuff I dream up come true at that point, but, something better happens much later. When I look back, I appreciate both the things that happened and that did not happen. And I am grateful about every lesson I have learned.

That is what finally matters. What do you say?

If you wish you could be elsewhere, you are nowhere

We humans are so typical. What we have, where we are and how we are is never good, not enough.

Yearning to learn. Curious to know. Willing to change. All these qualities are very good and desirable.  The problem is when this borders on frustration. There is a thin line between wanting something intensely and getting frustrated that we don’t have it yet.

Things beyond our control sap our energy, make us lose focus. Let us do what we have to and then leave everything to the Bigger force. Rejoice in the now, in the current and look forward to bettering ourselves continuously. There is no point wasting our energy thinking about being elsewhere, doing something else. Being myself, doing what I do best, making the best of where I am is the key to content and peace. Let us not confuse it as being complacent. The content and peace drive us towards being our best.

Access for Excess

Access your inner potential to achieve the excess you want in your life.

We all want a lot more in our life than that we have now like money, happiness, peace, calm, success, relationships… Yes. But what is the action we are taking towards achieving it. Even before that do we even clearly know what we want in our life. Once we know what we want, we need to know what our strengths are. If we know what our strengths are, do we know how to leverage our strengths to achieve what we want. This is when we can figure out what actions we need to take to achieve what we set out to achieve.

So, thinking back, I summarize the three steps required to develop self-awareness. Self-awareness is key in achieving excess in-turn.

1. Have a vision of what you want

2. Know your strengths.

3. Know how to leverage your strengths.

While we work on ourselves, the world starts to work on itself. Isn’t that Law of attraction? Do you still want to be lost in the definition and implementation of Law of Attraction. Or would you simply work on what you want and allow everything else to fall into place?

Reverse Engineer the Law of Attraction

Law of Attraction means “Like attracts Like”. Though this is different from our lessons on magnetism “Like poles repel each other”.

Law of Attraction says that “you attract into life whatever you think about”, as Steve Pavlina says.

Normally, when you want something to manifest into your life. You use the Law of Attraction – you use affirmations(there are various ways of affirmations again). Here, you are venturing to change your inner self so that outer world manifests the same experience.

From my personal experience, I have found that the vice-versa also works. That is I forcefully create some external experiences. Do this again and again consistently. And the subconscious mind gets the message. Thus changing our inner self or beliefs in ourselves. This is what I call as Reverse Engineering the Law of Attraction.
